How many remote kitchen and bar printers can we have?

DirecTouch software can drive up to 6 remote printers that can be used for kitchen prep printers, expeditor printers and/or bar printers.  These printers are all serial printers and we recommend dot matrix printers for areas where heat would damage a thermal receipt.

Standard CAT 5 cables may be used for the remote cable runs and then use the RJ-45 to DB9 converter included with the printer to connect the cable to the printer.  This reduces cable costs for the entire site by utilizing standard computer wiring.

Once orders are entered into the terminal the software will separate the order by printing station and immediately print the order on the printer.  This creates a more secure operation in that food or drinks are not printed unless properly entered and food and drinks are not prepared unless printed.  This closes the loop and eliminates potential for theft, misplaced orders, forgotten items and mis-prepared items.  Food and bar costs are reduced and speed of service increased.
