Pivot Point Ordering | DirecTouch DIY Restaurant Point of SaleIn many table service operations each table is assigned a "Pivot Point" or a designated place for the server to begin taking the table's order. This allows the server to ring in the items in the same order for every table in the restaurant. The point where this process begins is called the "Pivot Point" DirecTouch Point of Sale has a special feature that allows the server to ring in the order for the table in the same fashion as they took the order at the table. This is sometimes called taking the order by seat. No matter what you call it, the feature allows the food runner or server to properly distribute the food at the table without having a "food auction" with your guests. In addition to this benefit, ringing in by seat number makes it very easy to split the order once the guests are ready for their tickets. Take a moment to take a look.
