Hostess Seating and Wait List Module From DirecTouch DIY Restaurant Point of Sale

DirecTouch Point of Sale has a unique feature built into our Table Seating Module that offers you the option of having a hostess seat guests and keep a list of guests waiting on a table.  This feature has some very good qualities that might help your operation.

  1. When hostess seating is activated a new button will appear on the sign in screen.  Touch "Show Seating" to enter the hostess portion of the module.

  2. A customized layout of the restaurant will appear.  Touch "Wait List" to view the list of guests waiting on a table.

  3. The hostess can add people to the waiting list on this screen.  Touch "Add Name" to begin.

  4. If you desire, the hostess will enter the number of guests in the party.

  5. Enter the guest's name.  If the terminal does not have a standard keyboard, the system can provide an on-screen keyboard.

  6. Select the type of table the guest would like.

  7. Enter the time quoted the customer for their wait.  The system will record this quoted time and start a countdown of wait time left for this guest.

  8. There is also a field to enter the guest's pager or cell phone number.

  9. This number can be used to call or page the guest notifying them that their table is ready.

  10. When the hostess is ready to seat the guest they will touch the name on the list and touch the table where they are seated.

  11. This will turn the table status to yellow letting the hostess know that they have been properly seated and notifying the server that a new guest has arrived.
