Mastering the Drive Through In Fast Food and Quick Service

Operations with a drive through understand how vital it is to smoothly and accurately process orders through "the window".  DirecTouch Point of Sale we also understand how vital this aspect of your business is and have developed a fast, easy and accurate method of handling your drive through operations.

  1. The DirecTouch Point of Sale system has a special screen to view the drive through operation.  Down the middle is the queue where the cars are stacked.  The car closest to the top is the car closest to the front of the line.

  2. Ring the order as normal.  This means that your drive through cashier will see a screen similar to the front counter terminals.  Training is minimized.

  3. Once the order is complete, the car goes into the queue.

  4. The next order can be taken, stacking the cars in the queue.

  5. Along with the order number, we also display the elapsed time for each car.  At the top of the queue we show the average serving time for the entire drive through operation.

  6. When you are ready to collect for the order, the order processes normally.

  7. Change is displayed, reducing mistakes for the cashier.

  8. Once the order is served, it is moved off of the screen and the next car drives up in the queue.

  9. No matter if you are using a single or double window drive through, this screen works for both methods.
